It is that strain of Christianity that says, “There must be something more that I must do to be a good Christian.” The radical thinks and preaches that, “Good Christians do amazing things for Jesus.” This type of thinking is found in all branches of Christianity. There are mission weeks, revival meetings, monks who abandon all, elusive. RT France presents a synthesis of the gospel narratives, with elements of their historical context. The presentation isn't a synopsis (in the sense of a side-by-side comparison of the texts) or a narrative, but rather something of an analytical summary of the material in the four gospels, which brings together into one place relevant and related details from all four sources in a very helpful way/5(2).

Christians are supposed to be more radical according to the Bible. However, the definition of radical we should seek as believers should demonstrate our faithfulness to God and His Word in our beliefs and behaviors. Being radical according to the common definition of the word means that we differ from the beliefs and behaviors of the world.   The first is that a radical person or movement often re-defines Christianity according to a basic insight. The second point is that the person or the movement is often responding to a crisis. Today, the future of Christianity and, indeed, the future of God is a radical question with extreme responses.

In this book, John Shelby Spong puts flesh onto the bare bones of Bonhoeffer's radical thought. The result is a strikingly new and different portrait of Jesus of Nazareth, a Jesus for the non-religious. Spong challenges much of the traditional understanding, from the tale of Jesus' miraculous birth to the account of his cosmic ascension into.   I’ve got a few thoughts over at Christianity Today about the “radical” subcurrent of American evangelicalism. Only by “few” I mean words worth and by “subcurrent” I mean “tidal wave.” Long, yes, but by no means complete. There’s a good deal more to be said about the movement which I didn’t get to.
